St. Joseph’s Care Group Awards in Applied Health Research

The St. Joseph’s Care Group (SJCG) Awards in Applied Health Research are available to four full-time graduate students at Lakehead University pursuing research related to the service areas of SJCG. The service areas are: addictions & mental health, rehabilitative care, and seniors’ health. More information can be found at sjcg.net. The Awards are administered through the Centre for Applied Health Research (CAHR) at SJCG.

Recipients of the awards must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, and reside in Thunder Bay during the tenure of the award. They must also be working with a supervisor who is a member of the CAHR.

Please note that there have been changes to the award this year. There are now four awards available, each valued at $4000. The awards will be distributed to recipients in quarterly installments from September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2020.

2019 Showcase of Health Research: Registration is Now Open

The Centre of Applied Health Research at St. Joseph's Care Group is pleased to host the 2019 Showcase of Health Research on Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Victoria Inn Hotel & Convention Centre. Over 14 years, the Showcase has become the premier annual venue for the dissemination of research relevant to the health of Northwestern Ontarians. The conference features oral and poster presentations by health professionals, students and scientists.

NorthBEAT Engagement Coordinator Position

NorthBEAT is seeking applicants for a new Engagement Coordinator Position:

Reporting to the NorthBEAT Lead / Physician Research and the Manager Library and Research Services, the NorthBEAT Engagement Coordinator (NEC) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive stakeholder engagement process for the NorthBEAT Collaborative (the Collaborative). As a member of the Collaborative team, the NEC is also responsible for supporting the main activities and outputs of the Collaborative, including service mapping, eLearning development, and knowledge translation initiatives as required.
